Clergy

Archpriest Fr. Antonie Poposki
Rector of St. Clement of Ohrid Orthodox Church

“The priestly office is carried out on earth, but it ranks among heavenly ordinances.” St. John Chrysostom, On the Priesthood

I am an Orthodox Christian priest serving God and the faithful at St. Clement of Ohrid Orthodox Church in Dearborn, Michigan. My ministry is rooted in parish life, where I seek to proclaim the Word of God to those searching for meaning, truth, and salvation. “We preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord.” 2 Corinthians 4:5

I do not present myself as one who has arrived, but as one walking the path of salvation alongside others, seeking my own salvation with fear, humility, and hope. “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.” Proverbs 9:10

My calling is simple and demanding: to preserve and proclaim Christ as He has been received, lived, and handed down by the Church, and to make Him known to the current generation, not as an idea, a trend, or a cultural symbol, but as the living Lord who saves. “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” Hebrews 13:8

I come from Vevchani, Macedonia, where I grew up in the life of the local church under the guidance of my father. At the age of fourteen, I entered Orthodox seminary, beginning a path of formation rooted in discipline, prayer, study, and service. “Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6

My ministry has unfolded both in my homeland and in the United States. I served for seven years in Macedonia, including two years as a Metropolitan’s deacon, learning obedience and the quiet labor of ecclesial service. Before coming to the United States in 2012, I also served as Diocesan Secretary, working closely with clergy and parishes in pastoral administration and church order.

I began my priestly ministry in the United States on November 1st, 2012. Since March 2016, I have served at St. Clement of Ohrid Orthodox Church in Dearborn, Michigan, where I continue to serve through the divine services, preaching, teaching, pastoral care, catechesis, and parish life.
